A treatment for balding and hair loss with noticeable results beginning in as little as 6 weeks!
Unlike treatments such as PRP, where there is a lot of discomfort during the treatment, blood sampling and a lengthy 1hr plus procedure, the ‘Hair Restoration Protocol’ with Dr Hopkirk takes only 30mins, has minimal discomfort, requires no blood products to be used and comes with no downtime.
What does the treatment involve?
In summary, the treatment involves the benefits from mesotherapy using two proven serums and a take-home hair restoration shampoo to use in between treatments AND for the right patient the possibility of an oral medication to be prescribed which will support long-term hair growth.
How does it work?
Once a patient starts experiencing hair loss of the androgenic type (the majority of patients who experience hair loss), their hair grows back thinner and lighter and with less coverage.
The Hair Restoration Protocol ‘HRP’, works by promoting: a longer growth phase of the hair cycle, stimulates hair to grow back more pigmented and with more coverage, whilst also reducing the number of hairs falling out.
Patients are also given a take-home kit which includes an advanced hair restoration shampoo to nourish the hair with the best ingredients between treatments and augment the results.
How long does the treatment take?
10-15 mins total treatment time, with a total 30-minute appointment slot for each session.
Who is this treatment for?
Men or women who suffer androgenic alopecia or male/female pattern hair loss or balding. Ultimately, this treatment is a novel therapy for people who have mild-moderate hair loss.
It is NOT an investigation into numerous various causes for hair loss, for which it is always recommended a GP is sought to carry out blood tests and a workup to address the full list of possible causes for hair loss.
If someone is unsure, they can book a free consultation to discuss if they are a good candidate.
When do results show?
Results can be seen as early as four sessions into the treatment, however after the full six treatments are when results really start to reveal. The results continue to improve over the following months and a maintenance treatment is scheduled for 3-6 months post-completion of the six-treatment protocol.
How long do results last?
It is recommended that maintenance treatment(s) are performed at approximately 6 months, however, that doesn’t require the full six-week treatment program, just a booster.
Does it hurt?
The treatment is very comfortable with minimal pain and no downtime. The treatment itself feels like a light scratch as it is only very surface deep into the scalp and does not produce any bleeding or bruising.
What are the risks?
Some slight redness on the scalp can be experienced for 30mins to several hours post-procedure (however no blood is evident), and some mild irritation or itchiness can be experienced transiently in the first 24hrs.
There is a very low risk of hypersensitivity to the serum (approximately 2%) which can lead to redness and itching in the scalp; however, this will be managed directly with Dr Hopkirk if it occurs and is highly unlikely.
There is a risk as with any treatment that the desired results are not achieved and further treatments are required, OR referral to other professionals for additional options is provided.
Can vegans have this treatment?
The ‘Calecim’ stem cells are extracted from red deer ethically, however, if a patient is vegan and wants an alternative a different hair restoration solution can be used especially.
Who will be performing the treatment?
Dr Jonathan Hopkirk
What is the total treatment cost?
For cost estimation, it is important that you book a consultation with Dr Hopkirk to establish the best treatment course for you as an individual.
